Tae Crowder made a big impact and now he’s on IR
In a surprising move the New York Giants placed rookie linebacker Tae Crowder on injured reserve on Tuesday as they get ready for their Thursday game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Crowder suffered a hamstring injury against the Washington Football Team this past Sunday, which is the reason for him being placed on IR. We have to wonder if he suffered the injury late in the game while he was returning a Kyle Allen fumble 43 yards for the game-winning touchdown.
Now this doesn’t mean Crowder’s season is over, but he will have to at least miss the next three games. So he will miss this week’s game against Philly, than a Monday night match-up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and then the Giants’ second game against Washington.
The Giants have signed defensive end Jabaal Sheard from the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad in order to fill Crowder’s roster spot. He will not be able to play this week though because of the NFL’s COVID-19 protocols.
