Looks like Evan Engram won’t be traded
The NFL trade deadline is just over a week away and we’re all wondering whether the New York Giants will trade some of their top players like tight end Evan Engram, wide receiver Golden Tate, offensive lineman Kevin Zeitler and others.
NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday morning that teams have shown some interest in Engram, but unless the Giants are blown away by an offer they will not trade him before the deadline.
There has been some interest in Browns TE David Njoku and Giants TE Evan Engram, though neither team intends to move either guy. Perhaps if they are blown away by a monster deal, but both talented young tight ends figure to stay put.
Next season will be Engram’s final one of under his rookie contract. The Giants will either have to pay him to stick around, let him go as a free agent of find a trade partner. I got a feeling that his future isn’t in New York and the likely outcome will be him leaving as a free agent.
