Giants get Brandon Williams back
The New York Giants announced on Tuesday that cornerback Brandon Williams will return to practice after being placed on injured reserve earlier in the season. Williams was used mostly as a gunner on special teams before going down with a groin injury.
The Giants announced that they’ve signed defensive back Montre Hartage and tight end Rysen John to their practice squad and have released center Javon Patterson.
The 23 year-old Hartage played his college ball at Northwestern and played for the Miami Dolphins in 2019 after going undrafted. While in college he earned first-team All Big-Ten honors in 2018. He finished his college career with ten interceptions, 172 tackles and 39 passes defended.
John is a big player at 6-foot-7 and was selected in the third round of the CFL draft, but decided to give the NFL a try. He posted an impressive forty time for a tight end at 4.60. So he has some potential but will need to prove himself to the Giants’ coaching staff.
