Corey Coleman is back in New York
The New York Giants have brought back wide receiver Corey Coleman after signing him to their practice squad on Tuesday. I would expect him to be promoted to the active roster within the next couple of weeks.
The 26 year-old Coleman, a former first round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2016 has also spent time with the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots before signing with the Giants in 2018.
Last season, while playing for the Giants, Coleman suffered a torn ACL during a training camp practice in late July. I’m actually surprised that no one scooped him up.
During his first two seasons in the NFL with the Browns, Coleman hauled in 56 receptions for 718 yards and 5 touchdowns, but hasn’t done much since. During his first season with the Giants, he caught 5 receptions for 71 yards.
With all of the injuries that the Giants have had at the receiver position and the fact that their younger guys haven’t stepped up, adding Coleman will give them some much needed depth.
