Might be time for the Giants to move Kevin Zeitler
The NFL trade deadline for the 2020 season is less than a week away and everyone is wondering whether or not the New York Giants will trade one of their top players.
ESPN Giants’ insider Jordan Raanan indicated in his recent podcast, Breaking Big Blue, that the most likely player to be moved before the deadline is offensive lineman Kevin Zeitler. But of course a move isn’t guaranteed.
Raanan says he thinks the Giants would likely get a 4th round pick at best for Zeitler with the demand for offensive lineman outweighing the supply despte the fact that he’s clearly on the decline.
I would rather the Giants not move on from Zeitler, since he’s the one of their most solid offensive lineman on their team, but I also know they’re high on rookie Shane Lemieux. It’s probably not a good idea thought to start another rookie with Daniel Jones under center.
When it comes to tight end Evan Engram, the Giants still believe they can get something out of him, according to Raanan. But he believes the Giants could get a third round pick for him. Right now it would be a surprise if Engram is traded because New York isn’t ready to give up on him yet. He continued to reiterate that the Giants do not intend on trading Engram unless they’re blown away by an offer from another team.
When talking about the tradeable players on the Giants, Raanan also brought up safety Jabrill Peppers who is a good player, but not a difference maker on defense. He thinks they could get a mid-round pick for Peppers if they wanted to move him.
Raanan also talked about the players on the Giants that are untradeable on their roster. I encourage you to go ahead and listen to his entire podcast.
