Andrew Thomas needs to start improving
It’s safe to say that New York Giants’ rookie left tackle Andrew Thomas hasn’t had the best start to his career.
Now in Thomas’ defense, he’s had to face some very tough pass rushes from the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago bears, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and others.
Giants’ offensive line coach Marc Colombo spoke with the media on Wednesday and made it clear that benching Thomas isn’t the answer right now.
Benching Thomas may not be the best idea, but why not have fellow rookie Matt Peart start on the left side and have Thomas move to right tackle? It would allow the first rounder to get better and help the offense.
The fact of the matter is that things won’t get easy for Thomas with the Giants scheduled to face, Washington, Dallas, Philly and Baltimore which all have great pass rushes. So he will surely be tested and we will get to see whether he improves during the second half of the season.
Colombo also talked about both Shane Lemieux and Nick Gates, who he’s been very impressed with.
