The Giants need help on the offensive line
With starting left guard Will Hernandez now out indefinitely after testing positive for COVID-19, the New York Giants worked out veteran offensive lineman Kenny Wiggins on Thursday, according to Art Stapleton of the Bergen Record.
Unfortunately, Wiggins isn’t able to play Monday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because he will have to go through the NFL’s COVID-19 protocol. Hopefully the Giants will have the five other lineman that had to miss practice on Thursday as a precaution after having contact with Hernandez.
Adding Wiggins would make sense for the Giants with the rumors of Kevin Zeitler possibly getting traded and Hernandez dealing with COVID-19.
The 32 year-old Wiggins has played for the Baltimore Ravens (2011), San Francisco 49ers (2012-13), San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers (2013-17) most recently the Detroit Lions (2018-20). He went undrafted out of Fresno State in 2011 and has carved out a nice career as a back up.
