Giants need a big game from Daniel Jones
The New York Giants will have their hands full with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Monday night. Here are three players to keep an eye on.
The Giants can’t seem to catch a break this season when it comes to facing off against some of the NFL’s top pass rushers. They’ve had to face the likes of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears and others.
This Monday night the Giants’ offensive line will meet Jason Pierre-Paul and a Buccaneers pass rush that is second in the NFL with 25 sacks through the first seven weeks of the season. JPP himself has 5.5 sacks. Maybe the Giants shouldn’t have traded him a few years ago.
Bradberry is arguably the top corner in the NFL and he’ll have a big test against quarterback Tom Brady and wide receiver Mike Evans. I would think and hope that he will follow Evans around all game, but we’ll have to wait and see what the Giants’ defensive plan is.
Evans has 25 catches for 318 yards and six touchdowns so far this season.
I thought Jones played well against the Eagles. His throws were on the mark and he played his butt off. He’ll likely once again be on the run and have to deal with a lot of pressure. I’m not sure what the Giants’ run game will look like so they’ll need him to be on point with his throws and protect the football. Another long run wouldn’t be bad as well.
