The Giants need a new GM
With the New York Giants sitting at 1-6 this season, the chances of the organization moving on from general manager Dave Gettleman seem more and more likely at the end of the season.
CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported on Sunday that New England Patriots’ personnel executive Nick Caserio will be at the top of their list of general manager candidates.
Should the Giants ownership opt to make a change at general manager by 2021, which many within the game believe is inevitable, Patriots personnel executive Nick Caserio will be near the top of their list of candidates, league sources said.
Teams have approached Caserio in the past for general manager jobs, but he has turned them down, so we know that he’s been highly sought after by other teams around the NFL. With Giants’ head coach Joe Judge being a former Pats’ coach, it might be an attractive job for Caserio. And you have the fact that New England head coach Bill Belichick has ties to the Giants.
With the ties over the years between the Patriots and Giants, Caserio could be inclined to head down to New York and become their new general manager.
