Alfred Morris is back on an active roster
With the New York Giants dealing with injuries and offensive lineman Will Hernandez dealing with COVID-19, they promoted three players from their practice squad to their active roster for tonight’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Giants announced that defensive back Montre Hartage, running back Alfred Morris and offensive lineman Chad Slade have all been promoted.
With running back Devonta Freeman out, Morris will give New York some much needed depth and Slade will be giving the Giants depth along the offensive line with Hernandez out. They had to promote Hartage because cornerback Ryan Lewis is out with an injury.
Of course Giants’ fans are familiar with Morris from his time with both the Washington Football Team and the Dallas Cowboys. He’s also spent time with the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals. He likely won’t get any snaps against the Bucs unless Wayne Gallman goes down with an injury. Gallman and Dion Lewis will likely carry the load with the Gallman getting most of the touches.
When it comes to Slade, he could share snaps at offensive guard with rookie Shane Lemieux.
