Golden Tate’s time with the Giants could soon be over
It became apparent during the New York Giants Monday night game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week that wide receiver Golden Tate wasn’t happy about his lack of snaps on the offensive side of the ball.
Giants’ head coach Joe Judge spoke with the media on Wednesday and made it clear that they’ve handled things internally and he spoke with Tate who wouldn’t be in attendance during their walk-thru on Wednesday. So it sounds like he’s been disciplined by the team.
I’m not sure why the Giants seem to be phasing out Tate. We know they were looking to trade him, but that obviously didn’t happen with the NFL’s trade deadline now behind us for this season.
Giants’ ESPN insider Jordan Raanan looked over the film from Monday’s game and he says that Tate and his wife have a point to complain because he was open a lot and didn’t see the ball thrown his way.
With the Giants unable to trade Tate, you have to wonder if they will be able to do so during the offseason and if he becomes enough of a distraction, they could end up deciding to release him altogether and just eat the dead cap money.
