Golden Tate might be warming the bench this Sunday
During Thursday’s practice, New York Giants’ wide receiver Golden Tate ran with the scout team instead of the starting offense. It looks like things haven’t changed on Friday.
Tate was once again spotted on the scout team during Friday’s practice.
When talking to the media on Friday, Giants’ head coach Joe Judge wouldn’t rule out Tate not playing this Sunday against the Washington Football Team.
“Going to discuss a lot of possibilities after practice,” Judge said, via Raanan.
If Tate doesn’t start or even play Sunday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic believes Austin Mack will take his spot. The 23 year-old Mack is an undrafted rookie out of Ohio State that only has one reception for one yard so far this season.
The Giants really lack veteran depth at the receiver position which is why they claimed Dante Pettis off of waivers after the San Francisco 49ers cut him earlier in the week. The problem is that due to the NFL’s COVID-19 protocols, he can’t play this Sunday.
