Darnay Holmes making an impact for the Giants
You don’t hear about New York Giants’ rookie cornerback Darnay Holmes much, but he’s having a pretty good first season in the NFL.
PFF College posted an interesting tweet on Friday about Holmes and it states that he’s the only rookie cornerback that hasn’t allowed a touchdown this season in the NFL. He’s been targeted a total of 39 times. Not bad at all.
Holmes really proved himself against Dallas Cowboys’ star rookie wide receiver CeeDee Lamb earlier in the season.
Holmes is very happy with how he’s performed so far this season and he should be.
“It’s definitely a blessing to see the progression I’m making,” Holmes said last month, via Giants Wire. “I’m never at the point that I want to be at. I feel like I’ll never be there, just the kind of person I am. I’ll never be satisfied, but just me being able to take on the coaching points, me being able to diagnose things, me being able to communicate more, I’m actually seeing that.”
Holmes has mostly played in the slot and played 87 percent of the Giants’ defensive snaps against the Washington Football Team last week. With Isaac Yiadom banged up, it will be interesting to see if the Giants try him on the outside against the Philadelphia Eagles.
