Giants keeping Graham Gano around for a while
New York Giants’ kicker Graham Gano has been money for Big Blue so far this season so he’s been handed a three-year contract extension that will run through 2023, after signing a one-year contract prior to the season.
Gano’s new contract is worth $14 million with $9.5 million guaranteed, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Gano has hit on 21 of 22 field goal attempts for the Giants in 2020 and knocked home a huge field goal against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday that put New York ahead by 10 points with under two minutes remaining and helped them secure their first win over their NFC East rivals since 2016.
The only reason the Giants had to sign Gano was because their previous kicker, Aldrick Rosas, was arrested and charged with a hit and run while driving on a suspended license during the offseason, so New York released him. Now the Giants don’t need to worry about replacing Rosas because Gano has proven so far this season that he can get the job done.
