Daniel Jones is playing his best ball
Pro Football Focus just stated that New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is very underrated, which I agree with. Now in their latest podcast, Sam Monson said that he’s probably the best quarterback in the NFC East right now.
Below is a snippet from the podcast.
Here are Jones’ stats from week 10 when he had a clean pocket.
Now of course Jones is the best quarterback in the NFC East with Dak Prescott out for the rest of the season. If Dak was still heathy and playing, Jones wouldn’t be the top quarterback. But he is playing better than both Alex Smith and Carson Wentz right now, which isn’t saying much.
PFF made a good point about Jones in that he’s playing better than his stats show and I agree. He made some huge completions against Washington and the Philadelphia Eagles over the past two weeks which turned into two big wins. But we need to see how he plays against teams like the Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens and Seattle Seahawks., which are coming up.
There is no doubt in my mind that Jones has the talent, his biggest problem has been the mental part of the game and not making bad throws and making sure he holds onto the football.
