Giants’ COVID-19 situation getting worse
With New York Giants’ kicker Graham Gano testing positive for COVID-19 earlier the week, punter Riley Dixon and long-snapper Casey Kreiter have also been placed on the COVID-19/reserve list on Wednesday.
This doesn’t mean that Dixon and Kreiter also tested positive for COVID, but because they were close contacts with Gano and the Giants stated that.
Right now the Giants don’t have any new positive tests.
If both Gano and Dixon aren’t able to play against the Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday, I wonder if kicker/punter Ryan Santoso will take both the kicking and punting duties after he was promoted to their 53-man roster.
If the Giants don’t want have Santoso punt and kick they will need to add a punter to their active roster. This likely won’t happen until next eek when they return to practice after their bye week.
The NFL also announced on Wednesday that their COVID-19 protocols will be getting stricter with cases around the country rising. It might be tough for them to control a virus that seems pretty much uncontrollable around the world.
