Did the New York Giants draft the wrong tackle?
Even though the 2020 NFL season is far from over, some people like to look back to the 2020 NFL Draft and redo it.
Mike Renner of Pro Football Focus posted his re-draft for the 2020 NFL Draft. As you can see below, he has the New York Giants taking offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs instead of Andrew Thomas.
Wirfs was taken by the Tampa bay Buccaneers with the 13th overall pick and has been having a very good rookie campaign. He’s only allowed one sack so far this season and has been guilty of only three penalties. His PFF grade so far this season is a 78.0.
Thomas has allowed six sacks and committed two penalties. His overall PFF grade is a 59.4 so far this season.
Of course it’s easy to look back and second guess the decisions that teams make, but the Giants could still have a great player in Thomas who was really bad earlier in the season and has been improving each and every game over the past few weeks.
