Giants catch a break for next week
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported on Sunday that the Cincinnati Bengals have placed star running back Joe Mixon on injured reserve as he continues to miss time with a foot injury.
Giovani Bernard will fill in and he hasn’t looked bad over the past few weeks, so the Bengals running game wont be a complete mess but they may have a tough time against a Giants’ defense that ranks seventh in rush yards per game, only allowing 100.9.
The Giants will likely not have at least three players out against the Bengals after testing positive for COVID-19 this past week. Wide receiver Dante Pettis, offensive tackle Matt Peart and tight end Kaden Smith all tested positive after kicker Graham Gano tested positive earlier in the week. The thought is that Gano should be good to go, but nothing is certain right now.
Currently on a bye week, the Giants will have a chance to build on a two game winning streak against a young Bengals team that currently sitting in last place in the AFC North.
