The Giants’ key players need to be consistent down the stretch
If the New York Giants are going to go on and win the NFC East they’re going to need certain players to step up and help them get the job done.
Below are a list of players that need to perform down the stretch.
Daniel Jones
Jones has played very well over the past two games, but he as some tough match-ups coming up against teams like the Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens.
All the Giants need is for Jones to protect the football by not trying to force it into coverage and to hold onto it when he faces pressure instead of not securing it and fumbling when he’s being taken down. If he can do that, this team should be able to win the NFC East
Evan Engram
Engram has made some great plays for the Giants this season, but they need him to make the routine catches that he’s dropped and they need him to make the clutch catches to help them win games.
With New York not having a true number one receiver, you can say that Engram is their number one guy. He needs to perform like it.
Leonard Williams
There’s no doubt that Williams has played well so far this season with six sacks and a Pro Football Focus grade of 78.1. But they will need him to continue to get after opposing quarterbacks. If he can get between 10-12 sacks this season, I would say he’s done his job in helping this team reach the playoffs.
Andrew Thomas
Thomas has been getting better week by week. If he can establish himself as the Giants’ top left tackle by the end off the season, then he’s done his job as Big Blue’s top pick from the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Giants need the rest of their young offensive line to keep playing well and getting better, but it starts with Thomas who protects Daniel Jones’ blind side.
Second cornerback position
Whether it’s Issac Yiadom or someone else, the Giants need their second cornerback opposite of James Bradberry to be able to hold their own going forward. They will be facing some tough offenses with the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks coming up.
The Giants ultimately need Yiadom and company to bend but not break under pressure.
