Little Giants is a classic kids movie
First and foremost, it’s great for the New York Giants that the Washington Football Team blew out the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving day because it will help them in their quest to win the NFC East and clinch a spot in the playoffs.
During their win, Washington ran a play from the 90’s movie “Little Giants” called the “The Annexation of Puerto Rico.” Check it out below.
Washington head coach Ron Rivera confirmed after the game that the play was from the “Little Giants.”
“It actually goes back to a movie called ‘Little Giants’ and it’s called, I hope I don’t get in trouble, ‘The Annexation of Puerto Rico,’” Washington head coach Ron Rivera told reporters after the game. “We nicknamed it the ‘Bumerooski,’ but most of these guys don’t understand it so we had to explain to them who Bum Phillips is, and we did it as a tribute to him.”
It sounds like Rivera is a big fan of the movie, and I don’t blame him because I watched it numerous times as a kid.
“We love that movie,” Rivera said after running a similar play in 2011 with the Carolina Panthers.
Here’s what the play looked like in the movie.
