Oshane Ximines undergoing surgery on his torn rotator cuff
The New York Giants have announced that second-year linebacker Oshane Ximines will undergo surgery on Monday to repair his torn rotator cuff, this will of course mean his 2020 season is now over.
Ximines injured his shoulder against the Los Angeles Rams earlier in the season and was placed on IR. The hope was of course that he would return at some point this season but that is clearly not possible at this point.
Ximines played all 16 games in 2019 as rookie third round pick out of Old Dominion. Hopefully he can get healthy and back on the field to help the Giants in 2021. He recorded 24 tackles and 4.5 sacks as well in 2019.
With Ximines out for the rest of the season, the Giants will have to continue to rely on the other pass rushers on their team like Kyler Frackrell to pick up the slack. Their defensive lineman like Leonard Williams and Dalvin Tomlinson have also done a good job getting after opposing quarterbacks at the time.
