Giants need Daniel Jones for playoff push
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones ended up suffering what appears to be a hamstring injury against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
The Giants were driving down the field in the third quarter when Jones took off and ran the ball up the middle but apparently tweaked his hamstring because on the next play he couldn’t even move or plant his leg when throwing the ball. He then went down so the Giants’ training staff could come out and assess his injury. But the good news is that he did walk off on his own power.
New York’s offense was rolling and would have likely scored a touchdown but back-up quarterback Colt McCoy came in and they had to settle for a field goal after they failed to move the ball further down the field.
If Jones’ injury is going to cause him to miss any time, you can kiss the Giants playoff hopes good-bye.
Jones did come in on the next drive but is clearly not healthy. So McCoy had to come back in.
