Bret Bielema might be on the way out soon
New York Giants’ outside linebackers coach and senior defensive assistant Bret Bielema is starting to draw some attention from college programs around the country as a possible head coaching candidate. One school in particular that has him as a top candidate is Southern Miss, according to Steven N. Godfrey Jr. of Banner Society.
Bielema of course was the head coach of the University of Wisconsin from 2006-2012 as well as the University of Arkansas from 2013-2017. He had a lot of success with the Badgers but failed to deliver a winner when it came to coaching the Razorbacks in the SEC, which is why he was fired.
After being let go by Arkansas, Beilema was an assistant with the New England Patriots for the past years prior to joining the Giants this season.
With his success at the college level this isn’t a surprise, I don’t think the Giants expect to keep him long term anyway as an assistant and he will likely head back to college to become a head coach once again.

I remember him from his years coaching Wisconsin. Brought that school back into the Big Ten winners in a very tough conference. Players excelled at next level because of his coaching. Thank you and wish you the best as a college head coach again if you leave.
