Giants will miss Kyler Fackrell
The New York Giants announced several roster moves on Tuesday afternoon and one of those moves was adding linebacker Kyler Fackrell to injured reserve after suffering a calf injury against the Cincinnati Bengals this past Sunday.
Fackrell’s play of the season might have been his pick-six against the Dallas Cowboys earlier in the season. Niko Lalos came in for him against the Bengals on Sunday and made s big interception, but he was placed back on the practice squad on Monday. We’ll have to wait and see who replaces Fackrell this coming Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Giants also activated offensive tackle Matt Peart, wide receiver Dante Pettis and tight end Kaden Smith from the COVID-19/reserve list. Getting Smith and Peart back is huge because they’ve had roles on offense rotating in and out of games. With Peart out against the Bengals, Cam Fleming got a lot more time on the field.
New York also terminated the contracts of practice squad players wide receiver Derrick Dillon and tight end Nate Wieting.
Last but not least, the Giants waived defensive back Montre Hartage and punter Ryan Santoso.
