Saquon Barkley getting help from one of the best in Adrian Peterson
Future Hall of Famer and current Detroit Lions running back Adrian Peterson, who suffered a torn ACL in 2011 and came back even stronger, is helping New York Giants’ running back Saquon Barkley after he suffered a torn ACL back in week two against the Chicago Bears.
What’s really remarkable is that Peterson is still playing at the age of 35.
“To be that poster child for [ACL recovery] is what I envisioned,” Peterson told TMZ. “Because now people, they look at it, and they say, ‘You know what? I can do that. I’ll be able to come back.’”
Peterson also says he’s helping Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham jr. recover from their own torn ACL’s.
Even though recovering from a torn ACL isn’t as bad as it once was because of technology, it’s no easy task and having someone like Peterson support you is huge for Barkley.
