Colt McCoy will have a chance to lead the Giants this week
As much as some people want to bash New York Giants’ quarterback Daniel Jones, it’s obvious that back-up Colt McCoy isn’t on the same level. So does this mean the Giants might dumb down their playbook for McCoy if he does end up starting this Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks?
Giants’ offensive coordinator Jason Garrett was asked about whether he plans on cutting the playbook down for McCoy.
“I think you’re trying to customize it, you’re not cutting it down in any way,” replied Garrett.
It makes sense for Garrett and the Giants to modify things for McCoy but not reinvent the wheel given that he’s not the same player as Jones and doesn’t have the same skill set.
As of right now, Jones has yet to practice this week and it looks like he’ll at least miss one game. I would be surprised if he plays this week, so it looks like McCoy will get the nod against the Seahawks.
