Russell Wilson couldn’t operate under duress
A day later and it’s still kind of unbelievable how the New York Giants went into Seattle and defeated a Seahawks team has been averaging 33 points per game at home by a score of 17-12.
One thing that the Giants were able to do that I’ve never seen before is get to quarterback Russell Wilson and make his day miserable.
Wilson’s Pro Football Focus grade for the season has been a 90.3 and against the Giants it was a 54.3. Ouch! They pressured Wilson a total of 23 times.
What’s truly amazing is how great Giants’ first round pick, left tackle Andrew Thomas played. He recorded the highest single game grade among any other rookie offensive tackle with an 87.5. Cam Fleming also played great with an 87.1 grade.
Other notable grades for the Giants’ offense is running backs Alfred Morris (84.2) and Wayne Gallman (79.2). I thought offensive lineman Shane Lemieux played well but PFF didn’t because he got a grade of 42.3.
When it comes to the Giants’ defense the highest grades were linebacker Blake Martinez (81.3), Carter Coughlin (73.6) and James Bradberry (72.2). Leonard Williams was given a grade of 68.7 which is baffling.
