Andrew Thomas has solidified the left side of the Giants’ offensive line
It’s truly amazing how much better New York Giants’ rookie left tackle Andrew Thomas has gotten over the course of this season because early on it looked like he might end up being a bust.
Once Giants’ head coach Joe Judge stepped in to help former offensive line coach Marc Colombo it really helped Thomas turn his season around. It also looks like new offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo is already helping as well because Thomas was named to Pro Football Focus’ week 13 Team of the Week.
“Andrew Thomas’ pass blocking looks better and better each week,” wrote Holden Perrelli of PFF. “In this game, he surrendered nothing to the Seattle defense. His four highest pass-blocking grades of the season have come in his previous four games, and he will likely grade out well again with his performance in Week 13. Elsewhere on the offensive line, guard Shane Lemieux and tackle Matt Peart appeared for a combined 56 snaps.”
Aside from Thomas, other young offensive lineman like Matt Peart, Nick Gates and Shane Lemieux have also been a big part as to why quarterbacks Daniel Jones and Colt McCoy have been able to throw from a clean pocket and why running back Wayne Gallman has been on a tare this season.
