Daniel Jones is breaking down
Earlier in the week, New York Giants’ head coach Joe Judge stated that quarterback Daniel Jones didn’t aggravate his hamstring injury but did suffer some nicks during Sunday’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
Now on Wednesday Judge was a little more clear on what’s going on with Jones. He says the former sixth overall pick is dealing with a second lower leg injury and that they’re unsure if he can play this Sunday night against the Cleveland Browns.
This comes after Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported on Wednesday that Jones will play against the Browns.
With this news Rapoport has changed his tune and now says that Jones is dealing with a sprained ankle and his status this week is in doubt.
I think Jones will at least be limited in practice this week, but don’t be shocked if he sits out on Wednesday and Thursday and is limited on Friday.
The Giants are in a tough situation because I don’t believe they have a chance at beating the Browns with a banged up Jones or even Colt McCoy under center.
