Daniel Jones should be fine for this week
Update: Now Rapoport says that Jones’ status is in doubt due to the fact that he’s also dealing with a sprained ankle.
Original: After taking a beating against the Arizona Cardinals this past Sunday while playing with an injured hamstring, we can only wonder whether New York Giants’ quarterback Daniel Jones is healthy enough to play against the Cleveland Browns this coming Sunday night.
Giants’ head coach Joe Judge told reporters on Monday that Jones didn’t aggravate his hamstring injury in week 14, but he did get banged up a bit.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported on Wednesday that Jones is expected to play against the Browns.
The Giants will have their first practice of the week on Wednesday and that’s when they will release their first injury report for week 15. So we will soon find out just how healthy Jones is. If he’s limited we definitely know he has some limitation right now. But if he fully practices then we know he’s in good shape despite being banged up.
Like i wrote this week, I think a banged up Jones is a better option than starting a healthy Colt McCoy. he gives New York the best chance to make the playoffs this season.
