Colt McCoy back under center for the Giants
After being limited all week in practice it’s been looking like New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones will not play against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday night. Now it’s been confirmed.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Saturday that colt McCoy will start over Jones on Sunday.
Some good news for the Giants is that tight end Evan Engram will play despite dealing with a calf injury and being listed as questionable. But cornerback Darnay Holmes won’t be active and will likely miss next week’s game against the Baltimore Ravens as well.
When it comes to the NFC East though, all four teams will be starting back-up quarterbacks because Alex Smith will miss the Washington Football Team’s next game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday after suffering a leg injury last week against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Philadelphia Eagles will once again be going with rookie second round pick Jalen Hurts at quarterback over Carson Wentz and Andy Dalton is starting for the Dallas Cowboys.
The NFC East race could get a lot tighter with the Giants and Washington facing tough opponents with average back-up quarterbacks.
