Hopefully Daniel Jones can play this week
Earlier in the week it was revealed that New York Giants’ starting quarterback Daniel Jones is now not only dealing with a hamstring injury, but also with a sprained ankle.
Jones was limited in practice this week and listed as questionable on the Giants’ final injury report on Friday. It’s starting to look like he likely won’t play this week against the Cleveland Browns and Colt McCoy will get the start. Even Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is starting to think Jones won’t play Sunday night.
One person in particular that wants to see Jones start is former Giants’ quarterback Eli Manning.
Unlike Jones, Manning never had a problem staying on the field because he never missed a start due to injury. The first time he didn’t start was during former head coach Ben McAdoo’s final season when he benched him in favor of Geno Smith.
I’m not sure if Manning took better care of himself or what, but I had to guess I would say that he knew how to fall in a way to protect himself and he has good genetics. Even Eli’s brother Peyton didn’t miss anytime until the neck injury he suffered late in his career.
At the end of the day, we all want to see Jones play on Sunday, but not if he can’t move around right.
