Let’s be honest, with New York Giants’ star running back Saquon Barkley rehabbing from a torn ACL, no one knows how he will respond next season.
One thing is for sure that is that the Giants have a very good back in Wayne Gallman who has proven this season that he belongs in the NFL.
During an appearance on the Blue Rush Podcast, former Giants’ running back Otis Anderson said that he believes that New York needs to pay Gallman and he had a feeling Barkley would get injured.
“I think you have to. I think you look at what Wayne has done given the opportunity…I think they should commit to him. I think they should give him some good money and keep him around, because you know you’re coming off an ACL and God bless, I never had one. You just don’t know what you’re going to get when you have those kind of injuries. Some guys that come back have well… I don’t know if he (Barkley) overdo it. I said a long time ago…hey man you can call me anytime, I can talk to you. But even I predicted he was going to get hurt…just by what he was doing,” said Anderson.
I would honestly think about paying Gallman and trading Barkley. But that’s a whole other article. They also wouldn’t be able to get much for Barkley given the fact that he’s coming off of a torn ACL.
