Daniel Jones was too honest
While talking to the media on Wednesday, New York Giants’ starting quarterback Daniel Jones admitted that because of his injured hamstring and ankle that he’s pretty much confined to staying in the pocket and is unable to roll out or take off down the field.
On Thursday, Giants’ head coach Joe Judge was asked about Jones’ comments and made it clear that he wasn’t thrilled with how much his quarterback shared.
“He was more forthcoming than I would have been with it,” said Judge regarding Jones’ comments, via Dan Duggan of The Athletic.
NFL coaches love to keep every little thing a secret. But the fact of the matter is that it’s obvious that Jones can’t move outside the pocket because he hasn’t been moving around over the course of his past two starts.
The Giants really could use a mobile Jones this week with a very good Cowboys’ pass rush. It will be interesting to see how creative offensive coordinator Jason Garrett gets this week because he will need to in fact get creative to help New York get a win in their final regular season game.
