Eagles not making things easy for the Giants
Update: The Eagles are in fact resting many of their best players.
Original: It’s no secret, not only do the New York Giants have to defeat the Dallas Cowboys to have a chance at winning the NFC East this Sunday, but they also need the Washington Football Team to lose to the Philadelphia Eagles. But there might be a problem for the Giants and their fans.
Dan Zangaro of NBC Sports Philly says that the Eagles aren’t having star players like defensive lineman Fletcher Cox, running back Miles Sanders, tight end Dallas Goedert, defensive end Derek Barnett and offensive lineman Jordan Mailata all are not practicing and it looks like they won’t play this week.
Philly isn’t holding these guys out because they’re injured, even though they are likely banged up to some capacity. But with the Eagles’ season now over, it looks like they won’t want to risk them getting injured.
This is bad news for the Giants because if the Eagles don’t play some of their top players it could make it more difficult for them to defeat Washington. Then again the guys replacing them will have something to prove and could come up big.
At the end of the day, the Giants need Philly rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts to have a big day against a very good Washington defense.
