Ben Wilkerson will replace Dave DeGuglielmo this week
Earlier in the week the New York Giants found out that offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo has tested positive for COVID-19. This is a huge blow to them after he took over leading their o-line after Marc Colombo was fired earlier in the season.
Two close contacts were identified that were around DeGuglielmo, one of them being assistant offensive line coach Ben Wilkerson, who is expected to coach in his place this Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.
The good news is that Wilkerson has been cleared and will be able to take over this week after there was some doubt that he would be able to.
Wilkerson and the Giants’ offensive line will have their work cut out for them this week as they go up against a very good Cowboys’ pass rush. Recently opposing defenses have figured out how to confuse New York’s young offensive line and sack quarterback Daniel Jones 13 times over the course of his past two starts.
It will be interesting to see how the Giants’ line preforms in week 17.
