Xavier McKinney will make big plays in due time
After being drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, New York Giants’ rookie safety Xavier McKinney has come with plenty of hype out of the University of Alabama.
Now that McKinney is back after being activated from injured reserve, everyone is waiting for him to make a big play. But he admits he’s not pressing to do so, instead he’s hoping to just do his job when he’s on the field.
“As far as making that play, I know it will come. I’m not trying to force anything. Just trying to make sure I do my job and make sure I execute for the team,” said McKinney when talking to reporters this week.
The Giants have asked McKinney to do a lot more recently with Madre Harper and Darnay Holmes both missing time recently and has played well. he’s a talented player that is versatile enough to play corner in the slot or at the safety position. They will really need him to step up against a strong Dallas Cowboys’ passing attack on Sunday afternoon.
