Patrick Graham will get plenty of interviews
New York Giants’ defensive coordinator Patrick Graham did a heck of a job helping his unit slow down and shut down some of the best offenses in the NFL during the 2020 season despite a lack of talent on their end. Because of this he will be a head coaching candidate this offseason.
The NFL Network (via NY Post) is reporting that the New York Jets would like to interview Graham for their head coaching vacancy. The Jets of course just fired Adam Gase this past weekend and are already in the hunt for a new head coach.
I would expect other teams to also interview Graham, but I have a feeling that he won’t be leaving the Giants just yet. I would imagine that some teams may want to see how he performs next season in order to see how consistent in his defense will perform from year to year.
I will say this, another season like this one and Graham won’t be with the Giants much longer. This is almost deja vu for Giants’ fans from when Steve Spagnuolo was their defensive coordinator back in 2007. He of course left after the 2008 season to become the St Louis Rams head coach.
