Evan Engram will have to bounce back in 2021
Even though New York Giants’ tight end Evan Engram somehow made the Pro Bowl this season, it was an utter disaster for him with a total of eight drops. Many of which led to interceptions that negatively affected the stats of second-year quarterback Daniel Jones.
There has been plenty of outcry from Giants’ fans for the team to move on from Engram, but this doesn’t make sense right now and I’ll tell you why.
For one, the Giants don’t have a lot of offensive weapons in the passing game. Aside from Sterling Shepard who is a slot receiver, they don’t have a top-tier receiver. If Engram can bounce back next season and hold onto the ball it will be a big help to Jones and New York’s offense.
Engram sounds like a guy who wants to get better and clean up his mistakes.
Of course if Engram continues to struggle the Giants could then let him walk as a free agent since his rookie contract expires after next season. But if he truly wants to stay in New York, he will have to prove himself in 2021. There’s no sense in getting rid of him now.

Evan is the toughest decision the Giants have. Personally, I think they need to draft a number 1 receiver, a offensive tackle and A tight end before anything other draft needs are filled. Engrams drops do not seem to be getting better. Clearly he cost the Giants the first Cowboys game this year and other games as well. No way is he a all pro. Potential means nothing when you do show improvement. I would only retain him with a team friendly deal other wise bye bye.
