Patrick Graham is the Giants’ best defensive coordinator since Spags
One thing that the New York Giants and their players were likely stressing over once their season ended was whether or not defensive coordinator Patrick Graham was going to leave for a head coaching job.
The New York Jets didn’t waste time in requesting to interview Graham after they fired Adam Gase at the end of the regular season. The good news thought is that soon after the Giants signed Graham to a contract extension.
During an radio appearance on WFAN in New York, Giants’ head coach Joe Judge made it clear that their priority was to make sure that Graham wasn’t going to leave this offseason.
“Keeping Pat here was definitely a priority for us,” Judge said, via Ralph Vacchiano of SNY. “We know Pat’s going to have a lot of opportunities going forward.”
It’s truly amazing what Graham did with the Giants’ defense in 2020. His most beautiful masterpiece was New York’s road win over the Seattle Seahawks where they completely shut down quarterback Russell Wilson and wide receiver D.K. Metcalf.
If the Giants are able to get Graham some more weapons for next season, they could have one of the best defensive units in the NFL in 2021.
