Giants coaching working some overtime
On Friday the New York Giants announced that they’re sending four assistant coaches to the East-West Shrine Bowl. Those coaches are assistant defensive backs coach Anthony Blevins, offensive quality control coach Bobby Blick, defensive assistant Jody Wright and defensive quality control coach Mike Treier.
The game was scheduled for January 23, 2021 at Tropicana Field in Tampa, Florida, but was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Even though the game was canceled, the student athletes will still take part in virtual training and informational drills. The training sessions will start next week.
“This is an outstanding lineup of coaches to work with our East-West Shrine Bowl selections during this trying year,” said Bob Roller, executive director of the East-West Shrine Bowl, via Giants.com. “The virtual presentations and forums that we are providing, in partnership with NFL Operations, will be critical for these young men’s professional development as they prepare for the next phase of their football careers.”
Even though the coaches won’t work with the players on the field, they will still get a feel for them when talking and working with them virtually.
