Giants will have two of the defensive lineman on the market
The New York Giants have two of the top free agents hitting the open market this coming offseason in defensive lineman Leonard Williams and Dalvin Tomlinson.
Pro Football Focus has ranked the free agent defensive line class for 2021 and Williams came in at number two with Tomlinson at number five out of 10 players.
PFF is also predicting where each player signs this offseason. The believe Williams will end up signing with the Carolina Panthers.
Prediction: Panthers sign Williams for four years, $80 million ($20M APY): $47.5M total guaranteed, $32.5M fully guaranteed at signing.
When it comes to Tomlinson, they believe he will end up re-signing with the Giants.
Prediction: Giants sign Tomlinson for four years, $52.5 million ($13.125M APY): $26.5 million total guaranteed, $16.5 million fully guaranteed at signing.
Even though Williams looked like an overall more disruptive player in 2020, Tomlinson hasn’t missed a game in his career and will cost them a little less. So bringing him back makes the most sense if they can’t keep both of them. New York can then possibly get Williams’ replacement in the draft or free agency.
