Marc Ross has a point
It looks like former New York Giants’ executive Marc Ross has had enough of the racial walls that NFL teams have created when it comes to hiring coaches and general managers.
With the Washington Football Team hiring former Carolina Panthers’ general manager Marty Hurney as their next general manager this week, Ross voiced his displeasure on Twitter.
Ross is currently a studio analyst for the NFL Network and has had interviews over the years for open general manager positions, but has yet to get a shot even though Hurney has been fired twice and is now getting a third chance. I understand Ross’ frustration and really believe he has a point.
On the flipside, Ross’ drafts with former Giants’ general manager Jerry Reese were far from home runs, which is why he was fired along with Reese in 2017. But if Hurney can get another chance, I think Ross deserves at least one chance at being a general manager for an NFL team. We still don’t know how he would perform on his own. He was New York’s director of college scouting, not the general manager.
