Antonio Pierce moving up the coaching ranks
Former New York Giants’ linebacker Antonio Pierce of course had a great career with Big Blue by helping them win Super Bowl 42 back in 2007.
Well since 2018 Pierce was the linebackers coach for Arizona State University’s football team. He then got a promotion to become the assistant defensive coordinator this season and now he’s been promoted for a second time to defensive coordinator.
Pierce has always had a great mind for the game of football and could possibly become a head coach one day, whether in college or the NFL. If a guy like Mike Vrabel can get a head coaching gig, Pierce deserves one as well.
Pierce got into coaching in 2014 when he became the head coach of Long Beach Poly high school. He was there until 2018 when he went back to his alma mater in ASU to coach.
Pierce made one of the most memorable plays in Giants’ history during the 2007 NFC Championship at a frigid Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers when he took on a block and still was able to stone-wall a screen pass.
