The Giants do need more defensive help
With the New York Giants’ offseason already here, they’re continuing to bring in players for possible future/reserve contracts.
Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com reported on Wednesday that the Giants are bringing in former Kansas City Chiefs’ 2018 second round pick Breeland Speaks.
The 25 year-old Speaks played his college ball at Ole Miss and has been on the Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders’ practice squads recently. He’s a versatile player that can play linebacker, defensive tackle and defensive end. It’s interesting that the Chiefs gave up so early on Speaks after taking him so high in 2018. I know they’re loaded with talent, but a second round pick isn’t something you easily throw away.
Speaks’ height is 6’3″ and his weight is around 285. I could see the Giants possibly using him as an edge rusher. He’s recorded 24 tackles and 1.5 sacks during his two year NFL career.
If the Giants do sign Speaks he will get a chance to make their 53-man roster this coming summer when training camp opens up for the 2021 NFL season.

Sometimes you get lucky and you catch lightning in a bottle. Sometimes you don’t. Worth a look. William’s was on the verge of being a bust. Look at him now.
