Everyone has a reason they lose
Earlier this week former New England Patriots’ and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady posted a nice message on Twitter about his former teammate, defensive lineman Richard Seymour, who is up for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Seymour tweeted back at Brady and mentioned that they should have won another Super Bowl ring because they should have defeated the New York Giants in Super Bowl 42. He said the only reason they didn’t defeat the Giants is because he was held on the play where Eli Manning come how escaped the pocket and hit David Tyree deep down the field as he caught the ball with his helmet.
Now it did sound like Seymour wasn’t completely serious, but I’m sure he and the rest of his teammates from that season aren’t happy about not going undefeated in 2007.
The fact of the matter is that calls are missed all the time if Seymour was in fact held on the play. If the Patriots were so good, they would have figured out how to defeat the Giants no matter what in that game. But the Giants defense rose to the ocation and the Giants’ offense took advantage of an above average defense.

No Richard, the Patriots lost that Super Bowl because you didn’t make the play on Tyree.
Booo effin hooo Seymour. Grow a pair…
The Giants were simply the better team on that day.
