A number one wide receiver should be the Giants top priority
The New York Giants could go in so many different directions when it comes to who they select with the 11th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network has released his first mock draft in 2021 and has the Giants taking Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle with the 11th overall pick. Here’s what he wrote:
Pick 11, New York Giants: Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama
The Giants are all in with Daniel Jones and now they need to give him some weapons on the outside.
Jeremiah is right, with the Giants sticking with Jones they have to get him a top-end wide receiver as soon as possible. It’s not fair to judge him without giving him a true number one target in the passing game.
What’s really interesting about Jeremiah’s mock draft is that he has the Miami Dolphins taking LSU wide receiver Ja’marr Chase with the third overall pick and not Alabama’s Devonta Smith. Instead he has Smith going to the Detroit Lions at seven.
Jeremiah also has the New York Jets taking BYU quarterback Zach Wilson instead of Ohio State’s Justin Fields. I have a hard time believing they would pass on Fields.
