Jason Pierre-Paul has a chance at another Super Bowl ring
It’s funny because I totally forgot that defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was a part of the New York Giants’ roster that won Super Bowl 46 in 2011. At the time he was in his second season with Big Blue.
JPP actually had a huge season in 2011 on his way to his first Super Bowl ring as he racked up 16.5 sacks, which remains his career high for a single season.
Now, JPP is back in the Super Bowl, this time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after the Giants traded him in 2018 in exchange for a third round pick (DT B.J. Hill) and a swap of fourth round picks between both teams. By the way, they used the fourth round pick on quarterback Kyle Lauletta.
The 32 year-old Pierre-Paul has been huge for Tampa this season after recording 9.5 sacks during the regular season and two against the Green Bay Packers during the NFC Championship game this past Sunday.
It’s great to see how JPP has resurrected his career with the Bucs. Hopefully he can get another Super Bowl ring but he and the rest of the Bucs will have a tough test against quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
