Eli Manning coming back to the Giants after a year off
Former New York Giants’ quarterback Eli Manning recently expressed an interest in working for Big Blue and now it looks like he’s working on figuring out what his role will be with the club.
Gary Myers of the New York Daily News says that Manning has met with Giants’ co-owner John Mara to talk about how he can help the organization going forward.
The Giants do a great job helping former players remain with the organization. They’ve carved out roles for guys like former linebacker Antonio Pierce and former fullback Charles Way in the past and I don’t have a doubt that Manning will be working for them very soon as well.
I agree with Myers, I would imagine that Manning will help mentor players. We already know that he’s been talking with quarterback Daniel Jones, trying to help him develop as a young NFL player.
When it comes to Manning’s future I don’t see him doing television like his brothers and I can’t imagine him coaching either. A role with the Giants makes the most sense right now.
