Eli Manning has nothing on Tom Brady
For a quarterback in Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that is about to make his 10th Super Bowl appearance, more than the majority of teams in the NFL, you would think that the three that he’s lost in the past wouldn’t bother him.
Well, former New York Giants’ quarterback Eli Manning, who defeated Brady in Super Bowls 42 and 46 says he’s still bothered.
“It’s one of those things, it’s not something I ever say or ever think a lot about,’’ Manning told The NY Post on Tuesday. “I’ve been around Tom numerous times, and I’ve never brought up a Super Bowl or our games versus them. He actually brings it up. It still bothers him a little bit, especially the ’07 one when they had the chance to go down as the greatest team of all time.
“But I don’t have any bragging rights with Tom. This is his 10th Super Bowl, and I’m so impressed with his whole career.’’
Manning is right. How can be brag about two Super Bowl wins when Brady will be appearing in a total of 10 with six total rings heading into next week’s big game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
I honestly thought Brady was washed up during his final in New England and I have to admit that I’m wrong. It’s truly amazing how great he still is at the age of 43. He will have quite the test against the Chiefs.
